No wifi? No problem. My toddler actually plays this one.

Let’s be real: most “educational” games for kids under 5 are just digital candy. Bright colors, loud noises, and zero substance. But Toddler Games for 2+ year olds from Bimi Boo is different. My two-year-old grabbed my phone and figured out the drag-and-drop puzzles in about thirty seconds. That never happens.

The app has 30 mini-games, each focused on a basic skill. Sorting shapes, matching animals, learning colors, counting to five. Nothing revolutionary on paper, but the execution is solid. The games are short — like two minutes short — which is perfect for that age. You don’t need to sit through a tutorial or wait for a loading screen. Tap, play, done. And the best part? It works completely offline. No wifi needed. That saved us on a long car ride last weekend.

What actually works (and what doesn’t)

The memory games are surprisingly good. There’s a matching pairs game with cute animal faces that actually made my kid think. She’d pause, look at the cards, tap one, then the other. That kind of focus is rare. The logic puzzles — like finding which object doesn’t belong — are also well designed. They’re not too easy, not too hard. Just the right challenge for a three-year-old.

On the downside, some games feel a bit repetitive after the tenth round. The coloring pages, for example, are just tap-to-fill. No brush sizes, no undo button. Fine for a toddler, but an older preschooler might get bored. Also, the voiceovers are in English only. If your kid speaks Spanish or Mandarin at home, they’ll still figure out the games visually, but the audio won’t help.

The interface is clean. No ads popping up mid-game. No “buy now” buttons hiding in the corner. There’s a parents’ gate with a simple math question, so your kid won’t accidentally buy anything. The graphics are soft and friendly — think Bimi Boo’s signature animal characters, not hyper-saturated cartoons.

Who’d enjoy this? Parents of 2- to 4-year-olds who want something that actually teaches without needing a manual. One tip: let your kid pick the game themselves. The menu shows all 30 as little icons, and mine always goes straight to the one with the giraffe. That’s the sorting game. Works every time.
