My kid actually asks to practice letters now

I’ll be honest—when I first saw PAW Patrol Academy NETFLIX, I figured it was just another licensed cash grab. But my four-year-old begged me to try it, and after a week of daily use, I’m genuinely surprised. The app is a collection of mini-games that teach early literacy, math, and problem-solving, all wrapped in the bright, familiar world of the PAW Patrol pups.

The core loop is simple: kids pick a pup—like Chase or Skye—and then work through short activities. One moment they’re tracing letters to help Marshall deliver a package, the next they’re counting fish for Zuma. Each task takes maybe two or three minutes, which is perfect for short attention spans. There’s no timer pressure, no failure state that feels punishing. If a kid drags the wrong shape, the game just gently nudges them to try again. That patience matters a lot when you’re dealing with a frustrated toddler.

What sets this apart from other educational games is the polish. The voice acting matches the show, the animations are smooth, and the sound effects don’t grate after the fiftieth replay. You can tell Netflix put real effort into making this feel like an interactive episode rather than a worksheet. There are also subtle difficulty adjustments—my son struggled with letter recognition at first, but the game adapted by giving him more visual hints. After a few sessions, he started identifying letters on his own. That’s not just luck; that’s good design.

One thing to note: this is a Netflix subscription perk, so you need an active Netflix account to play. No ads, no in-app purchases, no surprise upsells. You download the full game, and it stays unlocked as long as your subscription is active. For parents already paying for Netflix, that makes it a no-brainer. For everyone else, it’s worth a free trial just to see if your kid clicks with it.

If your child loves the PAW Patrol show and you’re looking for screen time that actually teaches something, this is one of the better options out there. Just be prepared to hear “Can I play Chase again?” about twenty times a day.
